Greg Puopolo ObituaryVisit the Relyea Funeral Chapel website to view the full obituary.Gregory Don Puopolo, 46, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on February 28, 2026.Born on February 13, 1980, in Boise, he was the youngest of five children born to Gail and Ernest Puopolo. Greg grew up in Boise and attended Collister Elementary, Hillside Junior High, and Capital High School. He later earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Idaho and went on to build a career. He most recently worked with CH Spencer in Nampa, where he was respected not only for his skill and intelligence but also for the genuine camaraderie he shared with his coworkers and the pride he took in his work.Greg enjoyed a wide circle of close friends who meant the world to him. He treasured these relationships and deeply valued the time they spent together.Greg had many hobbies and interests. Playing frisbee golf brought him joy. As a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan, he eagerly followed the team. Every year, he looked forward to attending Dave Matthews Band concerts at The Gorge with his friends. Among the many things that brought him happiness were music, family, and friends.A deeply thoughtful and philosophical man, Greg had a curious and reflective mind. He often helped others, offering support and kindness to those struggling. His compassion and willingness to help left a lasting impression.Greg was a hugger. He greeted everyone with the biggest hugs – the kind people still talk about, the kind that made you feel instantly welcome and cared for.Greg once described his vision for himself as "to take my light into the world, being present and vulnerable; to spread that light to create unity and inspiration in the world around me." Those who knew him would agree that he lived that vision every day of his life.He is survived by his parents, Gail and Ernest Puopolo; his sisters, Danielle Soutor (Todd) and Nicole Olsen (Eric); his brothers, Domenic Puopolo (Andrea) and Tony Puopolo (Chelsea); his nieces and nephews; and many friends who will remember his intelligence, humor, and the light he brought into their lives.In a special note, Greg's family writes: "We will miss Greg every day and be thankful for all he taught us.
