Grace Lorene Bryngelson

Grace Lorene Bryngelson passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Livonia, Michigan, at the age of 94. Born on August 12, 1931, in Newport, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Viola Smith. She was the devoted wife of the late Norris Bryngelson, with whom she shared a loving marriage from 1953 until his passing in 1989.

Grace was a cherished mother to Brenda (Keith) Olivares and Holly (Kent) Greniewicki. She is survived by her grandchildren Mathew (Rebecca) Olivares, Catherine (Justin) Coffey, Caleb Greniewicki, Daniel Greniewicki, and Christopher Greniewicki, and great-grandchildren Talan and Octavia. She held a special place in her heart for her siblings: the late Charles Elmer, the late Pete Smith, the late Rex Allen, the late Josephine, Millie Venable, the late Ernestine Nolan, the late Carl Smith, the late Helen Bullington, the late Linda Simpson, the late Barbara Powers, and Gail Simpson.

Known as the “Pillar of the Church,” Grace was a cornerstone of Prince of Peace Church, where her faith found expression through tireless volunteering, cooking meals, and offering quiet, steadfast support to those around her. Her home was a constant gathering place filled with warmth and hospitality, hosting family celebrations, baby showers, bridal showers, and graduation parties. She extended her generosity beyond her own family by cooking for the Salvation Army, always ready to give of herself without hesitation.

Grace was the loving matriarch of her family, remembered for her kind, generous spirit and the many lives she touched through simple, selfless acts of care. Her memory will remain a source of inspiration for all who knew her.
