Grace Allene "Allene; FeFe; Fee" Kersten

December 9, 1927 March 6, 2026

Trenton, MI

Grace Allene Kersten, affectionately known as Allene, FeFe to her high school classmates, and Fee to some of her family, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on December 9, 1927, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Robert Earl and Grace Marcum, she grew up during the Great Depression, moving between family homes in Tennessee and Pennsylvania before settling with her parents and younger siblings, Jessie and Bob, in Trenton, Michigan. These early challenges shaped her into a strong, independent woman admired by all who knew her.

Allene worked as a head file clerk for Ford Motor Company before becoming a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She created a warm and nurturing home for her family, celebrated for her delicious cooking and baking. A stylish and social woman with a gift for conversation, she was a longtime member and leader of the Trenton-Truax Questers, where her passion for antiques—particularly Asian pieces—led to many joyful road trips hunting for treasures with family and friends. A talented seamstress and lifelong fashion enthusiast, she brought creativity and an extraordinary eye for detail to everything she did.

Allene loved music, especially Big Band and classical jazz, and had a great fondness for cowboy and Western movies. She enjoyed dancing well into her later years, including line dancing that she took up in her sixties and seventies. She and her beloved husband, Roy, cherished RV trailer vacations across Michigan with their children, a tradition that later inspired both Marla and Brett to embrace camping as well. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she delighted in collecting teddy bears, sports equipment, board games, and even a Sega Genesis for her grandchildren to enjoy during visits.

Preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kersten; her son, Brett Kersten; her brother, Robert “Bob” Marcum; and her parents, Allene is survived by her daughter, Marla (David) Cezon; her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Kersten; her grandchildren, Derek (Stephanie Ann) Kersten, Clint (Kerry) Cezon, Jared (Brittany) Kersten, Chad (Taylor) Cezon, and Alexandra (James) Hackney; her great-grandchildren, Logan, Nicklaus, Brady, Riley, Ella, Jackson, Ava, Faith, Elliott, Morgan, and Lily; her sister, Jessie Sherrard; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be deeply missed for her spitfire spirit, warmth, laughter, and the loving legacy she leaves behind.
