Gordon Richards was a man whose life was defined by kindness, laughter, and a deep devotion to the people he loved. He passed away on March 7 at the age of 77.
Family was the center of Gordon’s world. He was the steady presence, the dependable voice, and the one who showed up without hesitation. His wisdom guided those around him, and his confidence gave strength to anyone who needed it. He carried himself with a quiet assurance, grounded by strong roots and an open mind.
Gordon had a gift for storytelling. He could turn a simple moment into something memorable, weaving humor, heart, and life lessons into every tale. A natural joker, he loved to laugh and loved even more to make others laugh. His warm, effortless humor and unmistakable, contagious laughter filled rooms and lifted spirits. He made friends everywhere he went—friendly, loyal, and genuinely interested in people, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome. His open-mindedness made conversations with him easy, meaningful, and often unforgettable.
He also had a sweet tooth and the heart of a true foodie. Whether discovering a new dish, savoring a favorite dessert, or sharing a meal with family, food was one of the ways he connected with the world. Those moments gathered around a table, laughing and telling stories, were some of his happiest.
Gordon is survived by his children Glendon (Jessica), Gildon (Erica), and Rhonda; his three grandchildren Nicholas, Graidon, and Goldon; and his siblings, who will forever carry his stories, his humor, and his heart with them. His presence will be deeply missed, but the imprint he left on those who loved him will remain forever.
