Gordon Normington

May 17, 1946 March 13, 2026

White Hall, AR

Gordon Lee Normington, age 79, of White Hall, passed away on March 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born on May 17, 1946, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, Gordon lived a life defined by dedication to his family, faith, and hard work.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War, where he met and married his bride, Anh, on January 13, 1970. Following his military service, he spent many years as a professional truck driver, a career he truly loved. He drove for McKenzie Road Service, Camden Wire, Ryder Dedicated Logistics, and R. L. Smith Trucking, finding great joy in life on the open road.

Outside of work, Gordon loved spending time outdoors, especially caring for his lawn. A skilled craftsman, he enjoyed building and creating with his hands, often using his carpentry skills to make and repair things for family and friends. He took pleasure in watching and reading westerns, with John Wayne as his hero. A devoted Christian and faithful member of White Hall First Baptist Church, Gordon’s faith guided his life and was reflected in the love and care he showed to those around him. Above all, he was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle who deeply cherished his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Jean Normington; his stepmother, Phyllis Normington; his sisters, Gladys Nelson and Bertha Westendorf; and his half-sister, Sally Normington. Gordon is survived by his beloved wife, Anh Normington; his daughters, Laura Jean Hart (Jeffrey) and Nancy Ann Holleman (Mark); his grandchildren, Heather Ann Hart, Luke Gordon Holleman (Mallory), and Patrick Hart (Lori); his sisters, Rosalyn Hilton, Katherine Bauer, Bonnie Dillman (Dennis), Pat Buente (Marvin), Terry Normington, Mary Normington, and Pam Normington; his brothers, Allen Normington (Bonnie), David Normington (Diane), and Scott Normington; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of family, his strong hands that built and fixed so much, and the miles he traveled doing the work he loved.
