He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dey and Martha Dey (Drennam); his wife Jeanette Becker; and his siblings, Garfield Dey (Milda), Stanley Dey (Esther), Donald Dey and Delores Schultz.

He is survived by: his children, Debra Vogel of New Ulm, Diane Dey of New Ulm and Steve Dey (JoLeen) of Winthrop; and his sister-in-law Charlotte Salfer of Wabasso. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – South Chapel (600 S Broadway St, New Ulm, MN 56073). A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Home Cemetery (602 St Marys St NE, Sleepy Eye, MN 56085).
