Goldie Darlene Britt

Goldie Darlene Britt, born on August 16, 1966, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away suddenly at her residence on March 8, 2026, at the age of 59. A cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Darlene faced life’s challenges with remarkable resilience and determination. Despite disabilities that prevented her from working full-time, she remained steadfast in her pursuit of self-sufficiency and lived with a spirit that touched everyone around her. Her warm smile and unwavering resolve left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Darlene found deep joy in her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. She loved to bake, filling her home with the comforting scents of fresh treats, and took great delight in crafts, always creating thoughtful gifts for those she cared about. She also treasured the simple pleasure of riding in a Peterbilt truck whenever the chance arose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Lindsey Britt and Neil A. Britt, and her brothers, Ben and Johnny Britt. Darlene is survived by her sister, Donna Riley of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, her special aunt and uncle, Pat and Doc Hilliard of Gloucester Point, Virginia, and her nieces and nephews, Amy, Amanda, Jessie, Cassie, Christy, J.J., Ben, and Jarrod, along with the rest of her loving North Carolina family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love and light she brought into the lives of those closest to her.
