Gloria "Mae" Yonnone

Gloria "Mae" Yonnone

November 10, 1950 March 12, 2026

Marlboro, NY

Gloria J. Yonnone passed away on March 12, 2026 at Taconic Rehabilitation in Beacon, New York, at the age of 75. Born on November 10, 1950 in Dobbs Ferry, New York, to Chester and Emma Frances Noviello, she grew up in New Windsor. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Richard.

In 1972, Gloria married Sam Yonnone at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. The couple first lived in Newburgh before building their home in Marlboro. Together they raised three sons: Mark of Newburgh, Matthew, who predeceased her, and John and his wife Kelly of Paxton, Massachusetts. She is survived by five cherished grandchildren: Dominic, Krystin, Samuel, Matthew, and Jack, three of whom live in Newburgh and two in Paxton.

Gloria enjoyed a long and varied career. She worked for the Air Force at Stewart before joining IBM, where she spent 33 years. After retiring, she ran a small business before accepting an invitation from Father Dennis Dinian to serve as office manager at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Newburgh. Later, a friend drew her to Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh, where she worked as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant, forming deep bonds with her co-workers, volunteers, and clients. She finally retired a third time to enjoy a well-earned rest.

To her grandchildren, Gloria was lovingly known as “Mae,” a name given to her by her eldest grandson that she carried with great pride. She was utterly devoted to the five of them, traveling to Massachusetts for holidays and competitions, attending every school event, and showering them with gifts and those long, comforting hugs that only Mae could give. Her deep faith in God shone through in the warm, smiling, and caring way she touched the lives of everyone around her. She will be deeply missed.
