Born on May 3, 1985, at Andrew's Air Force Base in Maryland.Gloria grew up in Vancouver, Washington, where she graduated from Columbia River High School and Clark College in 2004. She continued her education at Portland State University, earning her degree in 2006, and later pursued advanced studies at Lewis and Clark College, graduating in 2009 with degrees in Psychology. Her academic achievements laid the groundwork for a meaningful career in research and public health.Professionally, Gloria made lasting contributions to medical research. She began as a Research Assistant at Providence Health and Services before joining the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute as a senior research assistant. Most recently, she served as a Therapeutic Intervention Clinical Research Associate in Public Health at OHSU. Her work reflected her commitment to advancing science and improving lives.Gloria was also deeply engaged with her community. As a Precinct Committee Woman for the Multnomah County Democrats, she supported causes close to her heart. A lover of science fiction and music.She is survived by her parents Johnny (Katie) Rhyne and Barbara Bender Rhyne of Vancouver; her brother Cameron Rhyne (Amanda Scher); niece Leonora "Lena" Rhyne-Scher; longtime housemate Shannon McCormack; and many friends who cherished her presence.
