Grand Bay, AL
Gloria Marie Jones Harris was born on August 26, 1958, to Cleopatra and George Jones in Mobile, Alabama. The second oldest of four children, she grew up in Grand Bay, where she accepted Christ at a young age and became a lifelong member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. She served her church faithfully as a counselor in the Youth Choir and as a talented decorator, while always being ready to lend a helping hand in the community. She worked as a cook at the IP Casino and as a food processor in Bayou La Batre, among other jobs, and was known for opening her heart and home to many, becoming a bonus mom to countless young people.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Rudy Harris of Grand Bay; her mother, Cleopatra Jones of Grand Bay; her four children, Rudolph Harris, Jr. of Grand Bay, Marsha (Timothy) Jones of Irvington, Laura Harris of Grand Bay, and Jeremy Harris of Bayou La Batre; bonus daughter Juanita Jones of Lafayette, Louisiana; bonus son Carlos Matthew of Grand Bay; devoted great-niece Niyah Jones of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; six grandchildren, including two devoted granddaughters, DeAngela and Jaliyah; her brothers, Milton Jones and Oliver Jones; five godchildren; six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and dear friends, including Adeline Biel, Linda Dixon, Rowena Edwards, and Ms. Kat.
