March 27, 1937— March 12, 2026
Mineral Wells, TX
Gloria Madrigal Trevino of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by the family who meant the world to her.
Gloria’s life was defined by a single, unwavering devotion to her family. To her, family was more than a list of names; it was her purpose. She was the steady hand, the listening ear, and the warm heartbeat at the center of every gathering. Her love was expressed most clearly in the kitchen, where she prepared meals with decades of care and precision. From shaping perfectly round homemade tortillas to crafting her renowned tamales, she poured her affection into every dish. To sit at her table for one of her legendary breakfasts was to feel, without question, deeply cherished.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Gloria was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often enjoying evenings at the bingo hall. Above all, she was the devoted cheerleader for every generation that followed her. She was most at peace when her home was filled with the laughter and chaos of her children and grandchildren, her stove warm and her table full.
Gloria is preceded in death by her daughter, Leonore Herrera, her parents Julia and Jose Madrigal, and her siblings Edwardo Madrigal, John Madrigal, and Sally Uribe.
She is survived by her husband, Esteban Trevino; her siblings Ray Madrigal, Henry Madrigal, Joe Madrigal, Jesse Madrigal, Aurora Guajardo, Josie Parrigan, Mary Moreno, and Stella Latifi; her children Stephen Trevino Jr. (Aurora), Guadalupe Tamez (Jesus), Dorothy Scott (Mike), Irene Trevino, and son-in-law Martin Herrera; and her grandchildren Krystal Trevino, Jesus Tamez, Stephen Trevino III, Leticia Ramirez, Shelly Nonus, Elias Tamez, Abby Scott, and Katy Martinez. Her family will forever miss the scent of her cooking, the sound of her laughter, and the warmth of her heart.
