Mrs. Gloria Elaine Foster Inabinette was born in born Gaffney, SC on September 2, 1938 to Rufus Herbert Foster, Sr. and Mrs. Henrietta Crystal Littlejohn Foster.She was a graduate of Granard High School in Gaffney. Gloria continued her education at South Carolina State College (University) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and a minor in Math. She received her Master's Degree in Education from Winthrop College (University) in May 1984.At an early age, Gloria accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and joined her family church, Dunton United Methodist Church in Gaffney. She served as the Church Secretary, Trustee Board member, and devoted 25 years of service as the church organist. Gloria taught school for thirty years in Cherokee County School District #1, starting at Granard High School and retiring at Gaffney High School as an English teacher in 1991.After she started her teaching career in Gaffney, she met the love of her life, Elijah Inabinette Jr., whom she lovingly adored. They were married for 53 wonderful years and shared many laughs and a lot of love. Many people would say, "They were like two peas in a pod;" when you saw one, you saw the other. To their blessed union two loving sons were born whom she was proud of - Ray and Tony. Both sons graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering She was a Life Member of the South Carolina Education Association Retired (SCEA-R), National Education Association Retired (NEA-R), the NAACP, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®Gloria peacefully departed this life on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, South Carolina.She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Herbert Foster, Sr. and Mrs. Henrietta Crystal Littlejohn Foster; a brother, Dr. Rufus H. Foster, Jr.; a sister, Felicia F. Davis; a sister, Rosmaree P. Foster; a brother, Ellington L. Foster; four brothers-in-law, James Davis, Jr., Johnnie B. Jenkins, Rev. Donald Daniels, Henry Austin, Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Mildred T. Foster, Mae Jenkins; her father-in-law and motherin law, Deacon Elijah Inabinet Sr. and Annie Mae Inabinet.Left to cherish many loving and fond memories are: two sons, Ray L. Inabinette of Alexandria, Virginia, and Tony N. Inabinette of the home; a brother, Dr. T. Littlejohn Foster (Sandy) of Charlotte, North Carolina; a sister, Madelyn Foster Daniels (late Rev. Donald) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two brothers-in-law, Steve Inabinet (Rejeana) of Columbia, South Carolina, and Kenneth Inabinet (Christine) of Irmo, South Carolina; four sisters-in-law, Sandy Foster (Dr. T.L. Foster) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Thelma Foster (the late Ellington) of Gaffney, South Carolina, Rejeana Inabinet (Steve) of Columbia, South Carolina, and Christine Inabinet (Kenneth) of Irmo, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 7th, 2:00 p.m. in Dunton United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
