Dearring, 82, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 5, 2026, in Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.Gloria was born to Woodrow and Loulease Sellers, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Charles H. Dearring.As a devoted BCPS educator, Gloria dedicated 34 years to teaching and shaping the lives of countless students throughout her career. Her passion for education, patience, and commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on generations.Gloria was also a classically trained semi-professional singer, sharing her beautiful voice and love of music with those around her. Her faith was a central part of her life. She was a faithful and active member of Mt. Zion AME Church, where she served as a Missionary for more than 25 years, uplifting and serving her community with compassion and grace.Above all, Gloria cherished her family. She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy her loving children, Debtonia (JT) Dearring-Williams, Shiellynn Dearring, and Charles Dearring II; her beloved grandchildren, Tyrece Bolen, Soraya Cullin, Alicia Williams; great-granddaughter MaKaila Pickard; brother, Aaron (Theresa) Sellers of Elgin, IL; Wyhomme (Edward) Matthews of Battle Creek, MI, and a host of nieces and nephews.Gloria will be remembered for her wisdom, faith, talent, and the love she shared with her family, church, students, and community.
