Glenna Ruth Hall, age 82, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at her home in Stanton, Kentucky. She was born on Saturday, March 27, 1943, in Gessling, Kentucky, to the late Lorenzo "Jack" Pence and the late Thelma Burton Pence. Ruth was a proud graduate of Carter City School, class of 1961. She was a dedicated member of the Stanton Baptist Church, where, over the years, she passionately taught Sunday School Classes for children ranging from Kindergarten through 5th grade, and she enjoyed singing in the choir. In recent years, Ruth had found her spiritual home at Clay City First Church of God, where her warm presence continued to shine. She possessed an immense love of music, showcasing her talents as a gifted guitarist. In addition to her musical pursuits, Ruth played a vital role in her husband Donald Ray's photography business, offering invaluable support while also demonstrating her own impressive skills as a photographer. For 21 years, she was a devoted employee of the United States Postal Service, known for her sweet disposition and strong work ethic. Above all, Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was fiercely committed to her family, often putting their needs above her own and attending every event that involved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth's playful spirit was infectious, as she loved to play hide-and-seek, creating delightful memories that would last a lifetime. She had a wonderful sense of humor, always ready to share a laugh. Ruth cherished curling up with a good mystery novel, losing herself in captivating stories. Her legacy of love and joy continues to resonate with all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Hall; one daughter, Lori Jo Hall; two brothers, Gene Pence and Jackie Arnold Pence; three sisters-in-law: Judy Pence, Louise Pence, and Juanita Hall Kerr; one very special cousin, Jack Cales; two grandchildren, Ryan McCoy and Gary Lee "Chip" Hensley; and one nephew, Scotty Pence. She is survived by one daughter, Robin LeAnne (Randy) McCoy of Stanton; one step-daughter, Chuckie (Gary) Hensley of Georgetown; five brothers: Larry Pence of West College Corner, Indiana, David (Susan) Pence of Ashland, Ronnie (Susie) Pence of Grayson, Doug (Maria) Pence of Ashland, and Johnny (Lisa) Pence of Florence; five grandchildren: Stevie Jo (Cadence) Randall, Kinley Nicole (Austin) Miller, Robert Jake McCoy, Sarah Hensley, and Joe Hensley; and five great-grandchildren: Bryson Randall, Brylee Mason, Raymond Lee Young, Bella Hensley, and Elijah Hensley. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Brad Epperson will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 P.M. immediately following visitatation. Burial will be held at Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, Kentucky, with Robbie Pence, Billy Jack Pence, Kevin Pence, Taylor Webb, Rick Brown, Bradley McKinney, Chad Cooper, Tony Pence, David Wayne Pence, Terrell Webb, and Tyson Webb serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Darlene Watson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
