Glenn Beecher

November 13, 1942 January 29, 2026

St. Louis, MO

Glenn Reginald Beecher (November 13, 1942 to January 29, 2026) Glenn was born on November 13, 1942, to Glenn and JoAnn Beecher (née Mantovani) in St. Louis. He had one younger sister, Cheryl Hoffman (she and husband Jim both deceased). After finishing grade school at St. Ambrose on The Hill, Glenn went to Affton High School, Class of 1961. He graduated from Mizzou in 1964 and married Randa (née Janssen) and had sons, Michael (deceased) and Dave (Erin). In 1983 Glenn married Joanne (née Schroeder) and gained a daughter, Julie (Joe) Mataya. Glenn retired from Central Dies on 18th & Cherokee Street. He enjoyed traveling with his friend and business partner, Frank, down to the Dominican Republic and Florida. He loved meticulously washing his red Thunderbird convertible, tending to his yard and bumming around with neighborhood buddies, Joe and Don Wallis. He also enjoyed talking about his love for old cars and the fun he used to have racing with his high school friends down Heege Rd. Most of all, he loved his five grandchildren: Cameron Beecher, Connor (Addison) Beecher, Carter (Natalie) Beecher, Emily Mataya, and Dominic Mataya. Whether he was watching football, soccer or bowling, he enjoyed every minute seeing them do what they loved. Glenn will always be remembered for his sense of humor, despite his declining health and numerous ailments over the years. His memory will live on in the hearts and memories of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. He was a great dad, Paw Paw, uncle, cousin, neighbor and friend. Sincere gratitude goes out to Southview Assisted Living staff members, where he was cared for and a resident since 7/24. The family will celebrate his life with a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society of Missouri.
