Glenda was called home on Tuesday, March 3. Blessed are those who die in the Lord.Glenda Lynn Miller was born on December 25, 1962, after a night of a snow blizzard that left 18 inches of snow. Tire chains on a small Rambler sedan took her folks to Radford Community Hospital, where a tiny girl became a great miracle that lasted 63 years. She was predeceased by her father, Ralph Glen Miller, in March 2019. She is survived by her mother, Joann; her brother, Kevin, and his wife, Missy; and her beloved nieces, Alanna and Lyndsay, who were the delight of her life. She also left behind her"babies", dogs named Zoey, Mischa, and Caden. Glenda started her college career at Central Wesleyan College (now Southern University) in Central, South Carolina, to complete her senior high school year and her freshman year of college together. She returned to Blacksburg High School in June 1981 to graduate with her previous high school classmates. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education cum laude from Central in 1984. After returning to Virginia, Glenda spent 30 years in the Pulaski County School system, her career beginning as an elementary teacher, progressing to a high school teacher, assistant principal, principal, and finally in administration at the Pulaski School Board Office. She completed her master's degree in education from Virginia Tech in 1999.Glenda was a member of Blacksburg Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and loved the children through Vacation Bible School, Easter egg hunts, etc., and had a smile for a great supportive church family. She had serious health issues the last year of her life, but is now happy and whole with all the joys of heaven.Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors J.B. Beane and Gary McCoy Officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am before the service.In lieu of flowers, gifts may be directed in Glenda's memory to the Blacksburg Christian Church, 240 Watson Avenue, Blacksburg, VA 24060.Glenda, you are loved and missed, but a happy reunion day will come.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
