Passed March 6, 2026
Avon Park, FL
Glen Allen Kegler, age 86, passed peacefully at home on Friday, March 6, surrounded by his family after a brave, brief battle with pancreatic cancer. The eldest of six siblings, Glen proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years before beginning a long career with the Erie County Buildings and Grounds department. After his time in the Navy, he met and married the love of his life, Mary Ann Franjoine, on October 6, 1962. Together they shared a wonderful country life for fourteen years, raising their three children to love and respect all living creatures.
Glen found joy in simple things that brought people together, whether it was a round of golf at River Greens, baking homemade cookies, breads, and jam, or spending time with friends and family at concerts and reunions. He will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and deep love for family and friends. His legacy lives on in the laughter of his beloved grandchildren and in the stories, traditions, and memories that will be shared with his two great-grandchildren and those yet to come.
Glen is survived by his daughter Kathy (Bill) Schumacher, sons Glen and Joe, brothers Gary (Marcia), Dick (Betty), Bill (Pauline), and Ron, sister Donna (Bill) Kubik, grandchildren Marianne (Jon) Hurley, Nick (Malinda) Schumacher, Bradley Schumacher, Athen Kegler, Amberlynn (Clark) Eason, Matt (Audrey) Kegler, Sierra (Mihai) Kegler, and Joey Kegler, and two great-grandchildren he loved to show off in photos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Florence Kegler, his wife Mary Ann Franjoine, and sisters-in-law Marcia and Pauline Kegler.
