Gladys Frances Coburn

Gladys Frances Coburn, 71, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at UK King’s Daughters in Ashland. She was born on June 24, 1954, in Ironton, Ohio, to the late James “Jim” Weaks and Wanda Kiger Weaks.

Gladys is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Randy Lee Coburn, her son Kyle David Coburn of Ashland, her daughter Amanda Brook Coburn of Ashland, her sisters Sonya Maynard and Pam Franz, her brother James Edward Weaks, and many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.

She and Randy shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories. They especially enjoyed traveling and camping, often setting out on adventures that strengthened their bond and allowed them to form lasting friendships with their circle of camping companions around campfires and on the open road.

Gladys will be remembered as a gentle and kindhearted soul whose life was defined by compassion. She devoted many years to serving as a child advocate with CASA, believing every child deserved to feel safe, valued, and heard. She also volunteered with hospice, offering comfort and presence to individuals and families during their most difficult times. Her warmth, sincerity, quiet strength, and generous heart touched everyone she met.
