Gladys Manning ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Broussard's Mortuary - Major Drive on Mar. 11, 2026.Gladys Eileen Manning, 82, of Bryan, Texas, died Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bryan. She was born on July 18, 1943, in Houston, Texas, and moved to Beaumont at an early age, where she resided for the majority of her life.Gladys Eileen Manning lived a life defined by Christianity, kindness, devotion, and quiet strength. Her greatest accomplishments were the family she built and loved so deeply. She was the proud mother of three beautiful children and later a beloved grandmother and great grandmother. Family was always at the center of her life, and the love she poured into those closest to her shaped generations.Gladys graduated from South Park High School in 1961. Her Home Economics classes were her favorite, and during her senior year she attended a conference in Chicago. Using the skills and knowledge she learned, she created beautiful clothing and costumes for her family. She loved planning gatherings and cooking for those she loved, always serving it up with her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and so much love. Throughout the years she carefully documented family celebrations and milestones, capturing countless important moments and memories for her family. She was also a loving sister and aunt who held a special place in the lives of her three nephews. She was always there for them, offering the same care, encouragement, and steady presence she gave to all those she loved. She was a humble and kind woman whose strength showed in the way she lived her life each day. Known for her remarkable work ethic and determination, she approached her responsibilities with dedication and pride, rarely missing a day of work and always giving her best.No matter how busy life became, she made time for her family, and they treasure her deeply for that devotion. Fittingly, her initials, G.E.M., reflect exactly what she was to those who loved her most, a true gem.She stood beside her children through both the brightest and the most difficult moments of their lives. Her love was unconditional, steady, and unwavering, and the support she gave during those times was stronger than words can express. For the children of Gladys, being Mom meant bringing them into this world and walking beside them through every step of it. She laughed with them when they laughed and cried with them when they cried. She patched the knees in their little jeans and the scrapes on their actual knees with bandages and a kiss. She sewed dresses for dances, drove them to twirling, band, baseball, football, and soccer practices, and cheered proudly and loudly from the stands. No matter the game, performance, or field, they always knew they had at least one devoted fan.She showed them how to love, how to care for others, how to pray, and what it truly means to be a mother. Of all the things they will miss, they will remember most the sparkle in her laughing eyes as she would say, "I'm hugging you."She lives on through the love she poured into her three children and the lives they built. Each of them helped shape the granddaughter she cherished, and the compassion, kindness, and strength that defined her life continue through her great grandchildren. In her final days, those she cherished most came to visit her, surrounding her with love as they spent time together. The true measure of her life is found in the memories she leaves in the hearts of the many people she touched.Hers was a life well lived. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda Berwick Fishbein and her husband, Craig, of Wallingford, Connecticut and Dianna Berwick Judd and her husband, Paul, of Bryan; son, Ronnell H.
