Glada Costello Hasting, 87, of Scottsville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at her residence. Born in Monticello, Kentucky, to the late Marion Cordell “M.C.” Hurt and Jessie Ann “Anna” Dobbs Hurt, she worked for many years at Washington Overall Manufacturing and Wagner Brake. A longtime member of Foundation Church, Glada was known for her quiet strength and devotion to her family.
She is survived by her son, Eugene Costello (Melissa) of Glasgow, Kentucky; daughters Connie Myers (Larry) of Scottsville, Kentucky, and Kathy Gaston (Jerry Elliott) of Martin, Tennessee; stepson Dave Hasting (Paula) and stepdaughter Glenda Biggs (Bill), both of Westmoreland, Tennessee; and brothers David Hurt (Cindy) and Denver Hurt (Novella), both of Scottsville. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren—Mitch Costello (Casey), Mattea Melrose (Seth), Ruthann Meadors (Gene), Mark O’Neal (Maddison), Charity Blankenship (Kelly Ray), Kristy Gaston (Antwion McNeil), Kelly Jacobs (Ethan), Tonya Compton (Joe), and April Frey—along with 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Glada was preceded in death by her husbands, Eulois Costello and Albert David “A.D.” Hasting; brothers Rev. Cecil Hurt and Wilby Hurt; and sisters Gladys Hurt, Marie Lawson, and Jo Alice White. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose life centered on the family she cherished.
