Giuseppina "Josephine" Tote

Giuseppina “Josephine” Tote, 93, of Rotterdam, passed away on March 9, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fontechiari, Italy, in 1932, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Justina (Isopa) Ferrera. She immigrated to the United States in 1948 and for many years worked at the Newberry Knitting Co. Josephine found great joy in tending her garden and cooking for her family, and she will be remembered above all for the deep and abiding love she held for them.

She shared 40 years of marriage with her husband, Domenico, who predeceased her in 1987. Josephine was the beloved mother of the late Anna Marie Neach, Anthony Nicholas (Linda) Tote, and Angela Rose (Michael) Morrell. She leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Donna (Michael) Flatley, Renee (Michael) Lipinski, Laura (John) Rogers, Christina Neach (Thomas), Melissa (Michael) Bassi, Andrea (Joseph) Bronco, Anthony Tote (Anastasia), Donny Fay (Ia), and Gina Fay, as well as 18 great-grandchildren.

Her family will carry forward the warmth, strength, and devotion that defined her life.
