Gisele F. Richardson

Gisele F. Richardson of Brattleboro, Vermont and Riverside Drive, New York City, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 5, 2026 at home, at the age of 71, after a long battle with illness.

Born in Mt. Vernon, Westchester County, New York on March 1, 1955, Gisele was a lifelong lover of the arts, especially theatre and music. She attended the Ursuline School in New Rochelle and went on to study drama at SUNY Purchase, appearing in off-Broadway and amateur productions in New York City for many years. She later worked as a legal secretary at prominent law firms in New York while finding deep joy in her time in Vermont, where she read, cooked, gardened, and embraced a quiet country life, often traveling to Europe. She first discovered Vermont through skiing at Mount Snow and eventually retired to her beloved home in Brattleboro.

Gisele was known for her sweetness, self-deprecating humor, and her refusal to speak ill of anyone. Even in the face of terminal illness, she met her condition with courage, character, and warmth, never showing bitterness or anger—an example that touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband and partner of forty years, Tony Charlton of Brattleboro.
