Giovanna Birittieri ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 10, 2026.Giovanna "Jennie" Birittieri, 91, of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026.Mrs. Birittieri was born on September 19, 1934 in Catania, Sicilia, Italy to Salvatore Longo and Filippa Nicotra. In 1955 she and her husband, Carmelo immigrated to the United States making their home in White Plains, NY before retiring to Florida in the early 1990s.Giovanna was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her devoted husband of 73 years, Carmelo Birittieri, her three loving sons; Emanuel (Ellen) Birittieri of Roxbury NY, Salvatore (Vitina) Birittieri of White Plains NY, David (Rita) Birittieri of Simsbury Ct., and four adoring grandchildren. Giovanna is also survived by her siblings; Anna Laudani and Frank (Rosa) Longo of White Plains NY, Brother-in-law, Santo Birittieri of Port Chester NY, Sister-in laws, Concetta Longo of S. Salem NY, Carmela Longo of Sicilia Italy and thirteen nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Michael and Orazio Longo.Although Giovanna will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, her legacy of love and devotion to family and friends will continue to grow in our hearts.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
