Gingie lived a life overflowing with compassion, dedication, and family love. She graduated from Pontiac High School in 1956 and attended the McCauley School of Nursing, beginning a remarkable year career as a nurse. Her tireless commitment to healing and caring for others touched countless lives, and she continued her calling with grace until retiring in 2019.She was the cherished daughter of Ward and Greta Sherman (both preceded in death) and sister and best friend to Marlyn Sherman Wright (Bob), who also preceded her in death.Ginny raised her family in Sylvan Village and Drayton Plains, Michigan, later enjoying time in Tavares, Florida, before settling in Romeo, Michigan, where she was a deeply involved member of Romeo United Methodist Church.She is survived by her husband, Mike Power of Romeo, Michigan; her children, Ken (Lyndsey) Scott of Linden, MI, Melissa (John) Cauley of Maryville, TN, and Julie (Bruce) Morrill of Brooklet, GA. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren-Matthew Morrill (Taryn), Shelby DeLoach (Ryan), Jessica Scott, Collin Bentley, and Cole Scott (Ivy)-and her four great grandchildren, Tucker, Theo, Colton, and Harper, who lovingly knew her as their dear GeeGee.Gingie is also survived by her sister in law Mary Jo Mansfield, her nieces Sabrina Pohlman (Tim), and Jennifer Farrell (Chris) her "favorite" nephew Gregg Wright (Sue), and Mark Chudo, along with many other dear family members and friends.Ginny lived with enthusiasm and grace-she loved to travel, exploring beautiful places in France, London, and the western and southern US. She loved to laugh and had many wild adventures with her children on trips to Florida, Cedar Point and "up north". She was a member of the Sailing Singles and found great joy in adventure and the outdoors. Above all, she delighted in watching her grandchildren play sports, cheering them on with pride and love. She treasured her many friends, with Jan, Glenda, Dee, Roberta, Patty, and Dixie among her closest confidantes who shared laughter, support, and countless memories.In her later years, Virginia found a warm and welcoming home at The Gardens Senior Living in Statesboro, GA, where Jordan, the wonderful team and community adored her gentle spirit and bright smile. She was tenderly cared for by Kelly and the compassionate team from Regency SouthernCare, whose expert comfort, 24/7 support, and dedication brought peace and dignity to her final days.Virginia lived a life marked by grace, generosity, and quiet strength. Her legacy endures in the lives she touched, the family she adored, and the countless moments of love and laughter she gave freely. She will be deeply and forever missed.A celebration of Virginia's life will be held in June at the home of Ken and Lyndsay in Linden, Michigan on June 20.
