She was born on July 30, 1945, to Randolph and Viola (Johnson) Carson in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. While in junior high school, her family moved to Beggs, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Beggs High School in 1963.She married Joe Wesley Pope on April 16, 1964, and they made their home in Sand Springs, OK. Ginny and Joe had three children, Sherry, Terri, and Joe, Jr.Ginny was a credit analyst for Sunoco for over 25 years. She enjoyed her family, especially being involved in her grandchildren's activities. She was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, starting each day with the Tulsa World Crossword Puzzle.She was preceded in death by her parents Randy and Viola Carson, and her brother, Charles Carson.Ginny is survived by her husband Joe Pope of Sand Springs, her brother Eddie Carson, her children Sherry Askew and husband Tom, Terri Kennedy and husband Mike, and Joe Pope, Jr. and wife Debbie, eight grandchildren Carson Kennedy (Geoff), Riley Askew, Tripp Kennedy (Grace), Erin Kennedy, Braden Askew, Cale Askew, Abbie Pope and Trey Pope, one new great-grandchild, Scout Kennedy, a multitude of nieces and nephews and many other extended family members.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
