Gina Marie Duty

Gina Marie Duty of Dundas, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at the age of 56.

Born on November 2, 1969, in Minneapolis, Gina grew up in Chaska alongside her three brothers, Dan, Jeff, and Tommy. She excelled at gymnastics from a young age, training with Jonathan Livingston’s Seagulls and becoming the first Chaska gymnast to compete at state. She graduated from Chaska High School in 1988 and later attended UW-River Falls. Gina had a deep love for plants, filling a room with them at one time, and she cherished a fancy cake on her birthdays. Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, she was also a devoted cat lover and lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.

In the summer of 2005, while working as a crew caller for the railroad, Gina met her soul mate, Kevin Duty. It was love at first sight. They married on June 28, 2011, at Elvis Presley’s Graceland and went on to have three children: Dakota, Brooklyn, and Mabel. Gina loved country living, summer festivals, visiting her brother Dan’s house on the lake, watching gymnastics, attending garage sales, and cheering for her children at their sports events. She was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and person of quiet strength and warmth.

Gina was preceded in death by her grandparents Merrill and Irene Mortensen, Anthony and Maymie Denardo, aunt Beverly and uncle Curt, father-in-law James Duty, brother-in-law Keith Duty, uncle William (Alice), sister-in-law Leslie, and uncle Ronald.

She is survived by her husband Kevin Duty and their children Dakota, Brooklyn, and Mabel; her mother Sharon Mortensen; her father Tom (Linda) Denardo; her brothers Daniel (Andrea), Jeffrey, and Tommy; her mother-in-law Judy Duty; her brother-in-law Scott (Jennie) Duty and his five children; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
