Clarkston, UT
Gilberto “Gilbert” Salas, 48, of Clarkston, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2026. Born on December 8, 1977, to Maxine Salas in Tucumcari, New Mexico, he built a life centered on his deep love for family. As an executive chef, Gilbert took great joy in creating exceptional food to share with those he cared about. He was known for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the warmth he brought to everyone around him.
Gilbert especially cherished time spent outdoors with his family, whether on fishing trips, camping adventures, or cheering on his beloved 49ers. He was also famous for his meticulously perfected New York cheesecake, which he shared generously with loved ones.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carmelita Salas; his children, Aztec (Kassi), Jaden (Cody), Kyra, and Emery; and his grandchildren, Ryker, Oliver, and Madelynn, all children of Aztec. He is also survived by his brother, Joe (Sara), and his mother, Maxine. Gilbert’s legacy endures in the love he gave his children, the meals he created, and the countless memories shared with those who loved him.
