Gilbert M. "Gil" Anschuetz

Gilbert M. "Gil" Anschuetz

Mequon, WI

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gilbert "Gil" Anschuetz, age 87, who departed this life on March 17, 2026, in Mequon, Wisconsin, due to natural causes. Born on December 19, 1938, in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Gil was the beloved son of Raymond Anschuetz and Evelyn (nee Eichrodt) Anschuetz. Gil lived a life rich in love and memories. He was a devoted father to his children-Krissy Anschuetz (who predeceased him), Brenda (Kenny) Parchim, and Jeff Anschuetz. As a grandfather to Charlie, Alex, Tom, and Jason, and a great-grandfather to many, he cherished the moments spent with his family, instilling values of kindness and laughter. A lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Gil found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep appreciation for John Deere tractors, showcasing his passion through an extensive collection of miniature models. He spent years as a fork lift driver for Kiekhaefer and Ataco Steel, retiring in 2003, and dedicated his time to maintaining the beauty of Zur Ruhe Cemetery, where he will eventually be interred next to his beloved daughter, Krissy. Gil had a special bond with his companion Nadine Dobberfuhl, who brought him joy and supported him through life's ups and downs. He was a lover of German Shepherd dogs and a big-hearted individual who found joy in sending greeting cards adorned with stickers, reaching out to friends and family to brighten their days. He also held a soft spot for the beauty of cardinals, symbolizing the warmth and comfort he offered to those around him. A private family service will be held in the coming days, allowing loved ones to share cherished memories and celebrate a life well-lived. Gil will be laid to rest in Zur Ruhe Cemetery, where he will continue to watch over his family. As we remember Gil, we honor the kindness, humor, and love he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
