Gilbert L. Beardsley

Gilbert L. Beardsley, 79, of Lakewood, passed away on March 11, 2026, at UPMC Chautauqua. Born on November 27, 1946, in Warren, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Alfred and Katherine Britton Beardsley.

A 1965 graduate of Frewsburg Central School, Gilbert served in the United States Marine Corps until his honorable discharge in 1971. He worked at Hillerich and Bradsby in Ackley, Pennsylvania, known as The Bat Factory, until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and the Lakewood Memorial Post of the American Legion. Those who knew him remember his remarkable ability to fix anything and his lifelong enjoyment of tinkering.

He is survived by his wife, Marylee Pangborn Beardsley, whom he married on September 10, 1993; daughters Kristina (David) Folts of Augusta, Georgia, and Karyl (Jason) McDaniel of Lakewood; daughter-in-law Stacey Rasmussen of Cherry Creek; grandchildren Joseph and Molly McDaniel and Richard and Emily Rasmussen; two great-grandchildren; brother Gary Beardsley; and his beloved dog, Biscuit. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Rasmussen, and brothers Jerry and Glen Beardsley.
