Gil Jose Cisneros 64, of Denver, Colorado died Monday, March 2, 2026 at Denver Health Hospital. He was born April 27, 1961 in Spokane, Washington. Son of Ernest and Genevieve Cisneros.
Gil lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1968 to 1986 where he graduated from East Central High School.
He served honorably in the Navy from April 3,1986 to September 19,1990 as a culinary specialist. He was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Monterey California, served on the USS Cimmaron, where he traveled to numerous countries across the world, supporting vital naval operations and representing the United States with honor in every port he visited.
Gil worked at Pasta Pasta Pasta from 1991 to 2001 and preceded to work at Gilliam’s for the next 25 years.
Gil deeply loved his family, found joy throughout his life in playing chess, and watching sports, especially basketball, and a true Denver Bronco fan. He cherished both his family at home and his work family he built strong bonds with during his life. He formed many lasting friendships in his community and was valued by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He always used to say, “food is power” and he brought people together through his passion for food and his unwavering dedication to supporting those around him.
Gil is survived by his mother, Genevieve Cisneros; his sister, Debra Mulliner; four nieces and nephews; and six great nieces and great nephews, all of whom loved him deeply and will carry his memory forward.
In his own way, he had a personal relationship with Christ and believed his life was shaped by a meaningful purpose.
