He was predeceased by: his parents, Mateo Reta and Inez Gonzalez; his wife Francisca Sanchez Garcia Reta; and his children, Ricardo Reta, Olga Cerda and Elvia Cordero.

He is survived by: his children, Geronimo Reta Jr. (Sonia), Rene Reta (Delia), Ramiro Reta, Ruben Reta and Rosa Linda Trevino (J. Eddy Trevino). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home (1157 W Hidalgo Ave, Raymondville, TX 78580). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery (16100 TX-186, Raymondville, TX 78580).
