Germaine “Gerry” Yeager, 83, of South Fork, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Windber Hospice. Born on July 30, 1942, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Helen (Humbert) Roberts.
Preceded in death by her husband, Gary Yeager; brothers Larry Roberts (Connie) and Dick Roberts; sisters Doris Lasko and Barbara Kosco (John); parents-in-law Milford and Romayne Yeager; and in-laws Jim and Shirley Miller and Ken Fetsko.
Gerry is survived by her children, Brad (Sean) Smith of Laurel Hill, Florida; Kevin (Christine) Smith of Dalmatia; Jeff Smith of Springfield, Georgia; Jim (Cyndi) Smith of Rincon, Georgia; and Geri “Utz” (Josh) Maul of South Fork; seven grandchildren, including her beloved “boys” Carter and Cooper Maul; sister-in-law Beverly Fetsko; and many nieces and nephews.
She worked full-time as secretary for Croyle Township until the age of 75 and was previously employed for many years at Bestform. Known for her quick wit and sharp sense of humor, Gerry rarely missed an opportunity for a sarcastic remark. When asked how she was doing, her standard reply was always “50/40,” leaving everyone wondering about the missing ten percent. She loved a good time, a cold 7 & 7, dancing, and laughter. She now rejoins Gary in a long-overdue reunion.
