Geraldine Petit "Gerrie" Goins

Geraldine “Gerrie” Petit Goins, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in a local hospital after a brief illness. Born in Athens, Tennessee, on January 11, 1943, she graduated from McMinn County High School in 1961. A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Gerrie retired from AT&T after 30 years of dedicated service and remained a faithful supporter of many charitable causes throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Elsie Petit; her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Bob Burnette; and her brother, Edgar Petit Jr.

Gerrie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond “Buddy” Goins; her daughter, Melissa “Lisa” (Jeff) Perry of Cumming, Georgia; her sons, Ray (Deborah) Goins of Portland, Tennessee, and Robert “Glenn” Goins of Chattanooga; 11 grandchildren, Matthew Furr, Zachary Furr, Cassidy Perry, Isabella Perry, Casey Goins, Justin Goins, Sydney Goins, Allie Redden, Michaela Cummings, Nick Cummings, and Kellyn Holliday; and six great-grandchildren, Carter Goins, Blake Goins, Kinley Clark, Shiloh Holliday, Phebee Holliday, and Matthew Furr Jr. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members who will cherish her memory.
