Geraldine Hill ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford / Ray Funeral Home on Mar. 10, 2026.Geraldine "Gerri" Hudgins Hill, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 8, 2026.Born on August 19, 1945, in Buncombe County, Gerri was the only daughter of the late William "Bill" Hudgins and Reva Ward Hudgins. She graduated from Erwin High School and spent her life in Buncombe County. Gerri went on to build a career as a receptionist, most notably with local dentist offices in West Asheville and Candler. With her easy smile and outgoing personality, Gerri made patients feel welcome and created lifelong friendships. It was rare to accompany her on an outing without running into someone she knew.Gerri loved spending time with family and friends and was very involved with her Sunday School class and West Asheville Baptist Church. Never one to sit still, she was always delivering a meal or a care package to a friend in need, redecorating a room, or crafting a new floral wreath or centerpiece. Her lasagna was unmatched, her laughter was contagious, and she never let you get away without a big hug.Gerri is survived by her husband, Gerald, of nearly 63 years. She is also survived by her sons, Kevin Hill of Candler and Eric Hill (Melissa) of Etowah, as well as five grandchildren.A Celebration of Life Service to honor Gerri will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at West Asheville Baptist Church, 926 Haywood Rd, Asheville.
