Geraldine Anne "Anne" Opalka

Passed March 2, 2026

Southampton, PA

Geraldine "Anne" Opalka, a longtime resident of Southampton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 76 following a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Anne was the daughter of the late John and Julianna Iwanisziw. She was raised in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia and graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School. In May 1970, she married the love of her life, Francis "Frank" E. Opalka. Together they shared nearly 56 years of devoted marriage, building a life centered on faith and family in Southampton.

Her professional career began with the Internal Revenue Service and later as a Production Planner for the W. Atlee Burpee Seed Company in Warminster. After retiring, Anne devoted herself fully to her family, becoming a constant and loving presence in the lives of her grandchildren. She shared a particularly close bond with her daughter, Theresa, with whom she spoke every evening. Anne cherished family traditions, especially Christmas, and found joy in crafting. She treasured summers spent at the shore or cruising the Chesapeake aboard their boat, the Fran-Anne.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; her loving daughter, Theresa (Opalka) Boorse, and son-in-law, Jeffrey, of Warminster; her cherished grandchildren, Julianna and Jeffrey; her brother, Nicholas Iwanisziw, and his wife, Susan, of Massachusetts; and her extended family.
