Gerald T. Monteiro

Gerald T. “Jerry” Monteiro, 76, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born in New Bedford to the late Willard and Mary (Lopes) Monteiro, he spent most of his life in the city he called home.

Jerry found simple joy in playing horseshoes, bowling, and pool. A devoted sports fan, he especially loved football and spent his Sundays cheering for the Patriots. He worked for many years with Antone Medeiros Contractors and part-time at The Biltmore, where he formed lasting friendships.

He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, and two brothers, who will carry forward the memories of his steady presence and quiet good nature.
