Gerald “Jerry” Orrin Steif, age 82, of Bonduel, passed away at his home on Friday, March 13, 2026. Born in Neenah on August 24, 1943, to William and Marie (Schwartzkopf) Steif, Jerry graduated from Neenah High School before enlisting in the Air Force on June 14, 1962. He served as an Aerospace Hospital Medic, was stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base, completed two tours in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1982.
On September 25, 1982, Jerry married Roxanne “Roxie” Silvernail at Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The couple lived in Larimore, ND, before moving to Bonduel in 1988. A member of the VFW, Jerry found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, and working in his barn. He was an avid cribbage and bocce ball player, a loyal Green Bay Packers fan, and took great pride in his 23 years of sobriety. Above all, he was a giving and fair father who cherished time with his grandchildren. Known for his wisdom and dry sense of humor, Jerry often appeared serious yet was a trusted listener and advisor to many.
He is survived by his wife Roxie; children, Jerilyn (fiancé Tom) Landrum, Todd Steif, Tasha (Henry) Steif, and Karissa (Chris) Schantz; grandchildren, Andrew Randall, Austin Landrum, Rida Steif, Isiah Genz, Jenna Williams, and Ashton Williams; great-grandchildren, Logan Randall and Liam Belz; sister, Marlene Steif; and sisters-in-law, Patty Bauman and Micki Steif. He is further survived by his honorary grandkids, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joshua Steif; and brothers, Bob Steif, Ormin Steif, and Howard Steif in infancy.
