He is predeceased by his son, Todd Thurley; brothers, Tom and Richard (Joan) Thurley; mother, Irene [Barber] Thurley; father, Clarence Thurley. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Donna "Rusti" Thurley; children, Debbie (Dom) Mammoliti, Doug (Julie) Thurley, Monica (Nik) Urbanczyk, and Kelly (Kevin) Years; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Joanne Johnston; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Gerry was a Gates Police Sergeant from June 24, 1963, until March 3, 1987. He loved camping and traveling on his motorcycle.Friends may call Thursday, MARCH 19, 2026, from 3:00-7:00 pm at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Friday, MARCH 20, 2026, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 152 Main Street, Brockport. Interment, Grove Place Cemetery.
