Gerald "Jerry" Morgan

Gerald “Jerry” Morgan, 84, formerly of Deerfield Township, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at Windom Area Health in Windom, Minnesota, surrounded by his family.

Born on July 3, 1941, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Jerry left school after eighth grade and began a lifelong career as a truck driver. For many years he hauled produce over the road, continuing to drive until the age of 75. He took great pride in his safety record, earning membership in the 1,000,000 Mile Club and logging more than five million miles behind the wheel.

Jerry held a deep passion for classic vehicles and machinery. He enjoyed attending car shows, caring for his own trucks and cars, and tending to his lawn. Yet nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Kelly (Frank) Dorpinghaus and Mike Morgan; grandson Tyler (Emily) Morgan; great-grandchildren Pryce, Evelyn, and Moriah; brothers Bill (Meredith) Morgan, Del Morgan, and Ron Morgan; sisters Jeanie Zubke, Charlene (Louie) Brakob, and Charlotte (Ron) Kieck; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ardell Morgan; his son, Jackson Morgan; and his siblings Bob, Richard, Shirley, and Sharon.

Jerry will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the open road, and the quiet happiness he found in family and the simple pleasures of life.
