Gerald Barbour ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory - Perkasie on Mar. 16, 2026.Gerald Michael Barbour, of East Rockhill Twp. and formerly of Furlong, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at his home. He was 89.He was the loving husband of Judith Kathryn (Nelson) Barbour. The couple had celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary on September 12, 2025.Born in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Gerald M. and Margaret B. (O'Donnell) Barbour. A 1953 graduate of St. Rose of Lima High School, Carbondale, he attained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Business from the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA, in 1958.He was a proud U. S. Army Veteran, serving Stateside from 1959 until being honorably discharged in 1961.As a career accountant and comptroller, Mr. Barbour was employed with Roslyn Industries, Philadelphia and later Quakertown, PA, for a combined 18 years from 1974 until retiring in 1992.He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, PA.An avid reader, Mr. Barbour was also a model train enthusiast and collector. There was always a room in his home where he would build and display an HO gauge model railroad layout to share with his children and grandchildren.His greatest joy was found in spending time with his children and grandchildren in their academic, athletic and cultural pursuits. He always had a life story to share with all who would listen. He was a devoted Notre Dame fan and spent a lifetime cheering Notre Dame teams to victory.Surviving with his wife are five children, Kristen Steuber and her husband Sean, of Doylestown, PA, Jerry Barbour, of Philadelphia, PA, JoLynn Amsden, of Perkasie, PA, Jon Barbour, of Ambler, PA, and Kevin Barbour and his wife Amy, of Maple Shade, NJ; 11 grandchildren, Madeline Johnson and her husband Christopher, Phillip Steuber, Paige Barbour, Caitlyn Amsden, Makayla Barbour, Jacob Barbour, Emily Amsden, Kendra Barbour, Aeden Barbour, Brodie Barbour and Molly Barbour; a great-grandchild, Parker Johnson; and two sisters, Jeanne Marie Penzone, of Carbondale, PA, and Margaret Waibel, of Mt. Pocono, PA.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Barbour and his wife Marcille; and two brothers-in-law, Constantine Penzone and Richard Waibel.His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 10, 2026, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery, Doylestown, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania (EFEPA) at this Link.
