Gerald Lee Thomas

Gerald Lee Thomas, 70, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born on September 10, 1955, in Brownwood to Hillman and Dorothy Thomas, Gerald grew up with a deep connection to the Texas land that would shape much of his life.

In 1975, Gerald enlisted in the United States Army, serving until 1977 while stationed in New Jersey. On January 3, 1978, he married Ginger Minkley, and together they built a life centered on family, raising two children. Gerald found great joy in the outdoors, particularly fishing, and he held a lifelong passion for ranching. He especially cherished his time working with cows and horses, activities that reflected his quiet love for the land and its animals.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Thomas of Brownwood; son, William Thomas of Brownwood; grandsons Brian Thomas and his wife Christie of May, Alejandro Moreno of Brownwood, and Landon Moreno of Denton; sister Hilda Foster; brothers James Thomas and his wife Laverne, and Ronnie Thomas and his wife Betty; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Ginger Thomas, grandson Brent Thomas, his parents Dorothy and Hillman Thomas, and brother-in-law Harmon Foster.
