Gerald "Jerry" G. Vallier, age 86, of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. Born on January 25, 1940, in Tomahawk to the late Guy and Susan (Laine) Vallier, Jerry graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1958. He proudly served in the United States Army before beginning a long career that included work at Nick & Sons Casket Factory, Viegut's, and many years at the Tomahawk Mill, where he retired in 2001. He took special pride in bulldozing the mill's logging roads across many acres of land.
Even in retirement, Jerry remained active, mowing town roads, hunting, fishing, and taking long walks through the community he loved. He cherished time spent with his family and his Yorkie granddog, Duke. Known for his kindness, warmth, and acceptance of everyone he met, Jerry was a gentle presence in the lives of those around him.
He is survived by his son, Greg (Rhonda Bartelt) Vallier; granddaughters Erika Vallier and Kayli (Tim) Buffington; great-grandsons Kade and Drake; and stepsister Mary Kibler. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, whom he married on January 8, 1966 and who passed in 2024; his parents; and his sisters, Rosella Nichols, Nancy Morgan, and Geraldine Binder.
A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
