Gerald Earl Powell

Gerald Earl Powell of Sheridan, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born on December 5, 1961, in Saint Petersburg, Florida, he was the son of the late Jim Powell and Barbara Coan Gardner.

Gerald spent much of his life demonstrating quiet dedication in both his work and his relationships. For two decades, he worked as an operator for Redstone Construction, where his strong work ethic and reliability earned the respect of those around him. A faithful member of Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, he found joy in the outdoors, particularly fishing, hunting, gardening, and target shooting. Above all, he cherished his family, who remained the center of his life and happiness.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rebecca Webb Powell, and their daughter, Danielle (David) Powell. He is also survived by his sisters, Eileen Rivero, Cheryl (Troy) Burnette, Tina Powell, and Tina Lovell, his brother Michael Zopf, his sister-in-law Kimberly Spink, and his nephew C.J. Spink. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his brother Robert Gardner, his sister Brenda Carter, and his nephew J.D. Scott.
