Gerald Fitzgibbons ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Stork-Morley Funerals and Cremation - Lakewood on Mar. 5, 2026.Gerald "Fitz" Fitzgibbons was born on 8/31/1939 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Fitz was raised in Chicago and moved to Denver in 1968. He joined the Denver Police Department in 1970. The next 25 years were filled with friendships, brotherhood and excitement where he served the citizens of Denver bravely and with honor. After his retirement from the police department, Fitz went to work for the Teamsters which allowed him to travel the country until 2002. Fitz's next great and best adventure was raising his daughter Molly. Fitz died on March 3, 2026, and joined his twin angels, Billy and Rosie Fitzgibbons, in heaven. Fitz is survived by his wife Rosie and their daughter Molly, his son Keith and daughter in law Cindy who was more of a daughter than a daughter in law. Fitz will be missed by his grandchildren Hannah (Nic) DeVos, Stacey (Pierre) Etchemendy, Ben (Katie) Fitzgibbons and Jonathan Fitzgibbons. He loved his 8 (soon to be 9) great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ron (Angela) Schwab.Fitz lived a life full of adventure, always had a funny story at the ready and lived life his way.
