Gerald E. Blatt, Sr. was born on October 23, 1948, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and passed away on February 18, 2026, in Palm Bay, Florida, at the age of 77 after a long battle with cancer. The son of the late Morris and Claudia Blatt, he grew up in Lancaster before making his home in West Melbourne, Florida.
He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Blatt, and her wife, Jessica Brant, of York, Pennsylvania; his brother, Richard Blatt, and his husband, Jeanne Tibbetts, of Mays Landing, New Jersey; his sister, Joyce Blatt Guth, and her husband, Raymond Guth, of Mohnton, Pennsylvania; and his sister, Nancy Blatt Rutter, and her husband, Ken Rutter, of Ladysmith, Wisconsin. He also leaves behind nephews Shawn Blatt and his wife, Amy Blake, of Rochester, New York, Eric Guth of Etters, Pennsylvania, and Ryan Guth of Mohnton, Pennsylvania, as well as nieces Kimberly Blatt Reeves of Mays Landing, New Jersey, and Cara Guth and her husband, Cole Dreier, of San Diego, California.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Claudia Blatt; his brother, Robert “Bobby” Blatt; his son, Gerald E. Blatt, Jr., affectionately known as “Jerry” or “little Jerry”; and his wife, Patricia Blatt. He shared a special bond with his neighbors Donnie, Jill, Lexi, Bill, and Diane, who became like family to him. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he remained active in the VFW, Amvets, and American Legion Post 81 throughout his life.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
