Gerald Clarence Beck, 94, of Elmore, Ohio, died on March 13, 2026, at Otterbein-Portage Valley in Pemberville, Ohio, surrounded by his family. Born on May 12, 1931, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to Walter and Alma (Schwartz) Beck, he graduated from Elmore High School in 1949. On September 23, 1950, he married Dolores Keil, who survives him after 75 years of marriage.
Gerry retired from Amtrak while maintaining a lifelong commitment to farming. He served his community as a Harris Township Trustee for 18 years and contributed his time to the NOVA Board of Directors and the Ottawa County Fair Board. He also worked at Dana Corp and drove a cement truck. A longtime member of St. John United Church of Christ in Elmore, he lived a life marked by quiet dedication to his family, his faith, and the land he tended.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores, of Pemberville; his children, Richard (Karen) Beck of Englewood, Ohio, Tom (Wendy) Beck of the Upper Peninsula, Michigan, Cynthia (Richard) Sheckler of Wayne, Ohio, and Lisa Beck of Portland, Oregon; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Melvin Beck and Betty Sanders.
