Georgia Carol Sluss

Georgia Carol Sluss, 66, of Rye Cove, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Born on February 16, 1960, Carol was the daughter of the late George and Maxie (Owens) Kerns. She was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy Kerns and her sister Wanda Williams.

She is survived by her devoted partner and love of her life, Steve Brickey; her daughter, Bambi (Billy) Bowen of Rye Cove; her sisters, Dorothy McNew of Rye Cove and Sue Dollen of Kingsport, Tennessee; her brothers, Junior Kerns of Robinette Valley and Paul Kerns of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Carol also leaves behind her beloved companion, Whinney the Weenie dog.

Carol will be cremated, with a celebration of her life to be held by her family at a later date.
