Georgeanna S. Kern, 82, of Ft. Wayne, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at her home.She was born February 20, 1944, in Solsberry, Indiana, to the late George and Dorothy (New) Vanslyke. Georgeanna graduated from Solsberry High School and retired from Thomson Consumer Electronics (RCA) after 35 years of service, where she worked as a machine attendant.Georgeanna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and working jigsaw puzzles.On April 4, 1964, she married William "Bill" Kern, who survives.She is also survived by her children: Christina (David) Reber; Benjamin (Dawn) Kern; and Jeffrey (Nancy) Kern.Grandchildren: Nicholas (Ruth) Marshall; James (Miranda Champion) Marshall Reber; Austin (Amber) Kern; Kaitlyn (David Logan) Kern; Jeffrey (Emily) Kern Jr.; Matthew (Kayla) Kern; and Amanda Kern.Great-grandchildren: Alexandra Marshall Tsuria; Graycia Kern; Karson Kern; Rebecca Kern, and Jocelyn and Addlhyn Kern.Sister: Leah (Eanie) Byrer.She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Phyllis Sims, brother; Darrell Vanslyke, great-granddaughter; Nayeli YopsArrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 N. Main St., Upland, IN.Family and friends may gather Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, with a service of celebration beginning at 2:00 PM. Her grandson, Nicholas Marshall, will officiate.Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion-Grant County Humane Society, 505 S. Miller Ave., Marion, IN 46953.
