George Zacharias, Jr.

George Zacharias, Jr., 43, of Monroe Township, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to George and Christine (Arnold) Zacharias, George graduated from Tunkhannock High School. He began his career as a boilermaker at Fisher Tank and also worked alongside his family in their logging business. Known for his strong work ethic and warm presence, he was affectionately called “Handsome” by those closest to him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Marian Zacharias, and Margaret MacMillian.

George is survived by his parents, George and Christine Zacharias; his children, George III, Brier, Jase, Jaxen, and bonus daughter Payton; his siblings, Michael Zacharias of Monroe Township, Robin (Seth) Johnson of Monroe Township, and Sheila (Rob) Williams of Wilkes-Barre; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Allied Services Hospice Care Team for their compassionate support during his final days.
