George W. “Short Boy” Davidson, 79, of West Point, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on February 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in West Point to the late Lovice “Pete” and Mary “Biddy” Davidson, George attended the Harris County School System. On June 16, 1973, he married the love of his life, Diane Davidson. Together they shared a deep bond and a zest for life. For more than forty years, he was a dedicated employee of Chris Clark Grading and Paving. George had a passion for motorcycles and hats, and he was known for his genuine loyalty and his willingness to teach anyone eager to learn. A man of few words, he made a lasting impression on all who knew him. Above all, his family remained his greatest priority.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jesse Davidson, and great-grandchildren Da’Kari Davidson and Dawson Davidson.
George leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife and caregiver, Diane Davidson of West Point; his children, Ratha (Taddy) Hall of Savannah, Sharon (Travis) Carter of LaGrange, Terrence Meadows of Shawmut, Alabama, George Davidson Jr., Cherry Davidson, Takeshi Davidson, Tammy Shealey, and Regina (Anthony) Carlisle, all of West Point; his sister, Maime McFarlin of West Point; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews; extended family including Chris (Denise) Clark and family of Lanett, Alabama; special friend Tommy Gilliam Jr. of West Point; and many other relatives and friends.
